I am super stressed about race season this year. not really about whether I am physically ready, because everything seems to be going according to plan, but rather about how I am going to balance school, training, and money. anyone who says that this a sport for everyone is flat out lying. Lets face it, cross country skiing is a sport for affluent members of our society. I know this is going to sound like I am complaining, but I am a little bit. Racing is expensive. You have gear, race fees, as well as traveling costs. There is no way around it. I am the poorest athlete on my team. We are making our plans for US nationals this year, and It is seriously going to bankrupt me. As I said in the last post I am working odd jobs around town so that I can barely make it, but it is totally stressing me out. I guess this is my welcome to the real world.
